CABINET

"TIPSY" Dancing gaily. Sprightly. The life of the party.
Challenging in its creation, I set out to showcase what extraordinary furniture can be, to design and make a dynamic, lighthearted cabinet that bridges art and artifact - that pushes the boundaries that define form and function. Beautifully crafted from premium materials, Tipsy is as pleasing to the eye and touch as it is to use.

SIDE TABLES

Clean refined lines with inverted tapered legs define this pair of side tables. Made from Wenge with White Oak accents. The drawers are Western Maple and feature hand-cut dovetails and shop made Ebony pulls.

DEMILUNE (half-moon) TABLE

​"PALE BLUE DOT" 
Do you see the pale blue dot? From 6.4 billion kilometres, Voyager 1 sent a photograph of Earth, poignantly described by astronomer Carl Sagan, “…it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.” With its astral motifs, this Demilune, half-moon, table’s design celebrates our planet - an ephemeral, pinprick of light on a vast cosmic canvas.​

BENCH

"FLIGHT" In the sytle of the "Flight" console table, this bench - made from Walnut, Lacewood, and White Oak - would also serve as a unique coffee table.

COFFEE TABLE

After rifling through the pile of quarter sawn White Oak at my wholesaler, I noticed two boards that were sawn from the same log, in sequence. This bit of good fortune gave the bookmatched top. The base is steam bent Walnut with maple inlays.

COFFEE TABLE

Beautiful, rift cut White Oak and Walnut coffee table. Designed to fit into an alcove seating area. And, as it is to be shipped across the country, the client requested that it be able to be "flat packed".

MOROCCAN LOW TABLE

A client recently came to me with the original table base, which was broken into a dozen pieces. He wondered if it could be repaired.  It might have, but a new base was a much better option. Made from African Mahogany with Maple diamond inlays. The beautiful, original top is solid brass.

CONSOLE TABLE

"FLIGHT"  A different take on a familiar form. This  console table is crafted in Walnut with coopered, hand-carved legs. The top is book matched Lacewood which has been vacuum pressed to form the curved surface.

Garry Oak dining table made entirely from solid timbers.  The base is secured with two dovetailed wedges.

Walnut night tables with reversible tops: Walnut on one side, Lacewood on the other. Birch drawers feature hand-cut dovetail joinery.

BENCH

Elegant, classic lines define this bench. Crafted in Walnut with paisley patterned upholstery.

BLANKET BOX

Commissioned as a wedding gift, this blanket box is built from poplar - a modest wood with beautiful colour and texture. Rails are individually beveled to mirror the gently sculpted legs, which are joined with traditional mortise & tenons.  Other details include floating panels, black walnut inlay and Brusso solid brass hinges.

CONSOLE TABLE

From its hand-carved Walnut legs perched on stainless steel balls to its  gently sloping Lacewood top, this table is a real eye-catcher.

Created entirely of solid woods, these side tables take full advantage of quarter-sawn White Oak, revealing the beautiful medullary rays  this species is known for. Hand-cut dovetailing brings a touch of flash to an understated design.

Highly figured Western Big Leaf Maple top, sourced from a small wood lot in the Fraser Valley. Walnut trestle.
